Stuart Taylor is determined to fight for a place at Aston Villa.
The goalkeeper is aware of speculation linking Villa with a string of shot-stoppers and told the club's website: "It doesn't affect me- talk is one of those things that happen in football. If there's money at a club, then you're always going to get linked to players.
"Until I see anyone at the training ground I take it with a pinch of salt because it's not worth worrying about. I just go into training and plug away every day- that's all I can do."
Taylor himself was linked with a move earlier this summer, with one report inaccurately claiming he had actually joined Championship outfit Cardiff City.
He concluded: "Nothing has come from anyone. The Cardiff link was a funny one because I was sitting around the swimming pool on holiday when I had a phone call from Liam Ridgewell.
"He said: 'Well done mate, you've signed for Cardiff', and I said: 'If I have, then it's the first I've heard about it!' "I knew nothing about it and thought that if it was true, I might get a call about it.
I'm 27 in November and it's my aim to play, but it doesn't always work out like that - clubs have got to want you and you have got to want to go there as well."
