FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio says they want Antonio Conte to remain in charge of Italy for the 2018 World Cup.
Conte signed a two-year deal that will expire after the Euro 2016 tournament in France next summer.
“He has a contract until the next Euros in France and he will respect it, as the Coach has said many times," Tavecchio told Sky Sport Italia.
“Then after that we will see what happens. There will be meetings to discuss the matter.
“We want Conte to remain for the two-year campaign running up to the World Cup in Russia. We hope this is what will happen."
