Manchester United pair Anderson and Rio Ferdinand clashed with Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli at the end of last night's FA Cup defeat.
The Sunday Mirror says Balotelli sparked an ugly bust-up as Manchester City stormed into the FA Cup Final at Wembley.
The controversial Italian striker celebrated City's moment of glory by walking towards the United fans, brandishing his sky blue shirt and club badge.
That act of incitement sparked a response from United stars. Anderson, their Brazilian midfielder, angrily pushed Balotelli away and was joined by Ferdinand who took exception to Balotelli's celebrations.
City boss Roberto Mancini stepped in to separate the warring players.
