Tassotti prepared to stay with Allegri at AC Milan

Mauro Tassotti says he's willing to stay with AC Milan, despite missing out on the top job.

Tassotti was a candidate to succeed Leonardo as head coach before Max Allegri's appointment.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Yes, we have talked on the phone and saw each other on Monday in Milan.

"We clarified some things. I asked him what my job would be and he wanted to know everything about Milan.

"Allegri wants great intensity not only in the athletic side of things, but also when you use the ball in tactical sessions and mini-games in training. Last year with Leonardo we tried to introduce the ball into our fitness exercises, but we realised that it's not simple to do it.

"Allegri won't need a hand in the dressing room. The Milan dressing room is united and composed of great players and good people. I have only presented the situation to Allegri who seemed calm and serene. Milan are an important club, but it's easy to be a part of."
