Tasmanian A-League bid to go on

Despite calls from various sections of the media to focus on the current teams in the A-League, Tasmania's bid say they will continue their pursuit of a license.

Tasmania United FC have kept a light shining on their bid to win the 13th A-League license even though there is uncertainty surrounding at least one current club and the fact that the 12th license, Sydney Rovers FC, is struggling to get off the ground.

Regardless of this insecurity, a spokesman for the TUFC says that it is all systems go: "The TUFC believe the successful future of world football here in Tasmania is assured.

"This result has increased the determination of the TUFC taskforce to establish, for the enjoyment of all Tasmanians, a Tasmanian based A-League team.

"Our consultants, thanks to continuing financial support from state government, are close to completing the business case.

"TUFC envisage making a presentation to the A-League early in 2011."
