The North American Soccer League fall season continues to provide plenty of interesting results as the regular season comes to a close.
The re-formed New York Cosmos are looking the goods at the summit of the table with 24 points from 11 matches with just three fixtures remaining.
The Cosmos cruised past fourth-placed Carolina RailHawks 4-0 on the weekend to assert their authority on the competition but in hot pursuit remains the Tampa Bay Rowdies - seven points in arrears - after edging the Fort Lauderdale Strikers 2-1 thanks to a late penalty from English midfielder Luke Mulholland.
The Rowdies kept their hopes of a NASL Soccer Bowl 2013 berth alive by staying a point ahead of the Atlanta Silverbacks - who beat Minnesota United 3-1 - and three points ahead of a trio of teams (Carolina, Minnesota and Fort Lauderdale).
