John Tambouras has won a new two-year contract with North Queensland Fury. The well-travelled Tambouras, 30, joined the Fury from Azerbaijan, having previously played in Greece, Malaysia, Romania and Ireland as well as having stints with South Melbourne and New Zealand Knights in the old NSL and New Zealand Knights in the A-League.
''I knew I was going to enjoy it here the minute I got off the plane,'' Tambouras told the Townsville Bulletin.
''Ian gave me a great opportunity to come back to Australia to play football and now I've got another chance to go on with it for another two seasons.
''The first year is always going to be tough for a new club, but we've done well and I want to be part of things as the Fury moves forward.''
