Talented yet petulant Berahino still welcome at West Brom - Fletcher

West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino has proven to be a difficult character during his time amongst the senior squad at The Hawthorns.

The 22-year-old was involved in a dispute with the club over his failed transfer to Tottenham during the summer, and since then, things haven't quite worked for the talented striker.

Berahino's constant sulking has not sat well with manager Tony Pulis, who has failed ton start him since late October, but skipper Darren Fletcher believes that there is still time for the former England U21 international to rectify his mistakes.

"He's had a difficult time," said Fletcher. "I've spoken to Saido - a lot of people have.

"He's a really good kid who does silly things at times that you can get really frustrated with."

"The biggest frustration is how good a player he is - he's really talented," said Fletcher. "He does things that are a little bit petulant at times but he's still young and you have to remember that."

"He's well liked. We will see what happens in January but he's always welcome here because we think highly of him and want him to do well in the game."
