Sydney FC midfielder Terry McFlynn could be back sooner than expected in what would be a major boost for the club. The Northern Ireland player is making a solid recovery from a left knee injury and coach John Kosmina revealed that he could be back very soon.

"He could now be back for the Melbourne game (the Christmas round),'' coach John Kosmina said.

"It will be a phenomenal recovery if he does but Terry is just one of those players with a terrific attitude and he hates not playing.''
