Sydney's Colosimo continues search for new club

Championship-winning Sydney FC defender Simon Colosimo will continue his search for a new Asian club after his proposed move to Korean outfit FC Seoul took a turn for the worse.

The 31-year old, who last weekend helped the Sky Blues take out the A-League title with a man of the match performance in the Grand Final, jetted out of the country on Sunday morning to begin what he thought would be a short-term deal with the option of an extension with the K-League club.

But on his arrival, Colosimo found out that Seoul were unable to push through a visa for him before transfer deadline on Monday and his transfer became invalid.

Now he is keen to find another club in Asia so he can keep his World Cup dream alive.

"I'm bitterly disappointed but I've put it behind me already, I'm just trying to see what I can do," Colosimo said.

"Japan is an option but it's the hardest Asian league to get into and the window there closes next week.

"But my entire focus since about 10pm last Saturday night has been on being available for the World Cup - and I'm not going to give up on that until the World Cup has been and gone."
