Sydney's Bridge sets himself for semi-final return

Sydney FC forward Mark Bridge is confident he will return to action in the second leg of the major semi-final against Melbourne Victory in a week and a half.

The 24-year old has been out of action for the last five matches with a tendon problem in his toe but feels he is ready to return for the Sydney Football Stadium clash on March 7.

"I am very hopeful I'll play some part at least in the next match against Melbourne," Bridge said.

"I trained with the team yesterday. It was my first session and it held up good. It's still sore the day after. It's a matter of just doing the right things now.

"My gut feeling is that I will be right. If I am getting through a full session - and yesterday was pretty intense and tomorrow will be the same - then I am fairly confident that I will be able to play.

"It's frustrating watching from the sidelines. It's been good up until last week because we've actually been winning and playing good football but it wasn't good watching the boys lose in Melbourne."
