Sydney's Bridge and Musialik on verge of achieving more glory

Key Sydney FC players Mark Bridge and Stuart Musialik are on the verge of achieving success for the second time in their A-League careers.

The duo were part of the Newcastle Jets team that took out the title in 2007/08 and are now preparing for a Preliminary Final clash where they will take on the Wellington Phoenix tomorrow.

On that day in February 2008, Bridge netted the winner for the Jets and Musialik was vital in midfield and the latter sees this season as close to identical as what happened two seasons ago when Central Coast did the job against the Jets in the semi-final, getting to the Grand Final first .

''When you look at what's happened to us this time around, I think it might be a blessing in disguise,'' Musialik said yesterday.

''It's a different team we've got here with a different style of play, but what we did up there certainly proves that it's possible.

''So often in various sports you see the team that misses a week in the finals will come back a bit rusty. But if you look at the team who has to do it the hard way, who plays the whole way through, that regular competition can help them through.

''Certainly in our case, the boys are very confident about doing the job and the spirits are still high.

''If we have to do it the hard way, that's how we'll do it.''
