A consortium is planning a bid for a second A-League team in the city of Sydney. With the working title Premier State FC, the consortium is due to meet with the Football Federation Australia tomorrow to reveal its plans to bid for a new franchise for the 2010/2011 season.

The club has outlined its desire to play home games at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.

A spokesman for the club said, "It really will be the people's team.

"We have held discussions with some of the stadia management, local associations and state league clubs and everybody is behind the project.

"The model, where sponsorship income is shared with the state league clubs and associations, and satellite academies are run in each association's geographical zone, will also see the clubs and associations share in revenue from player sales to overseas clubs."

It is believed Fulham and Socceroos goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer will be targeted by the club.

"You could not ask for a better front man or ambassador," the spokesman added.
