Sydney to get physical with Adelaide United

Sydney FC will again get physical with Adelaide United this weekend. Sky Blues captain Steve Corica said that ever since John Kosmina was in charge of the club, their mentality was to get in the faces of Reds players (who Kosmina also coached).

Corica said that nothing would change this weekend.

"The rivalry has been fierce but healthy,'' Corica said on Thursday.

"It really goes back to the first year. There was the 'Kossie factor' but we also met so many times.

"Just because we have a new coach now, I really don't see it changing.''

After both sides came away from round 1 with wins, Corica knows just how important the match at Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday is.

"It's a big one.'' added Corica.

"While there's always the physical side to our clashes, our games have always produced goals.

"One of the reasons why Adelaide have been so successful is because they are such an effective team on the counter attack. Travis Dodd and Cassio are so dangerous going forward."
