Sydney FC will not sign Sunderland's Yorke

Sydney FC has put the idea of re-signing Dwight Yorke to rest. There has been mounting speculation that the club would regain the services of 37-year old Yorke but Chairman Andrew Kemeny has quelled all rumours.

"I think Dwight should probably be looking at coaching nowadays or something else at age 37," Kemeny told The Herald.

"I wasn't in Sydney on Friday but I don't think there would have been a meeting without my knowledge.

"There's nothing personal against Dwight. I think he's a lovely bloke. But we need to be looking at continuing our policy of developing our own youth and I suggest that should also apply to other clubs as well."

Yorke, currently playing with Sunderland in the English Premier League has been struggling to find a place in the first team and reports from England are that Sunderland boss Roy Keane has told the Trinidad & Tobago international to find a new club.
