Sydney FC midfielder Nick Carle will miss up to four weeks with a foot injury.

The Sky Blues marquee man sustained the injury in his club's 3-0 away win over Perth Glory on October 24 and will forced to the sidelines for about a month.

It is a massive blow for the former Crystal Palace man who had just returned from a broken toe.

"It is bitterly disappointing. I am shattered about this," Carle said. "I was back and 100% fit so to pick up another injury is very upsetting. It is tough to deal with.

"It has been a tough start to the season for me. I missed part of the preseason and have picked up injuries a few times since then so I am really down about this one.

"We have fantastic fitness and medical staff here so we will do whatever it takes to get back with my foot 100% ready."
