The Sky Blues marquee man revealed this week that he has been playing the first part of the season with a foot injury and it is that problem that may keep him out of the Westpac Stadium fixture with the Phoenix.
"In this moment (he) is still questionable," Sydney coach Vitezslav said.
"He needs time for recovery and (it's) hard to say now.
“He wants to play, because he's (a) leader, he wants to help the team to do the better result.
"But we must manage and because we know he needs time for recovery and be 100 per cent ready."
In better news for the reigning champs, acting captain Stuart Musialik is expected to play despite being substituted at half-time of last week’s loss to Adelaide United with a hip injury.
