Sydney FC's Brosque holding on to World Cup dream

Sydney FC striker Alex Brosque is holding on to a dream of pushing for World Cup selection with the Socceroos. The 25-year old believes that with the return of national team stars Jason Culina, Mile Sterjovski and Chris Coyne to Australia, he may be able to sneak into Pim Verbeek's calculations with extra focus now being on the A-League.

"First and foremost the aim is to look to play every game and do well. That's my main goal," Brosque said.

"If you're scoring goals that's where bigger and better things happen.

"I have to concentrate on performing consistently every week for my club.

"Going to South Africa would be an absolute dream and hopefully a dream that can come true. But there's a lot of hard work and time in between to make that happen.

"Culina, Sterjovski and the others have come back in their prime," he added.

"It shows now that there is a chance there to be looked at. Those guys coming back really helps us."
