Sydney FC's Brosque confident of good World Cup showing

Sydney FC striker Alex Brosque is confident the Australian national team will first qualify for and the perform well in the 2010 World Cup. In a column he wrote for the Fairfield Champion, Brosque praised a handful of Socceroos players for their performance in the 2-0 win over Uzbekistan and identified the key players for the tournament in South Africa commencing in June 2010.

"Harry Kewell looked dangerous when he got the ball and is only going to improve on the road to South Africa," the column read.

"There is no doubt that if Australia are going to be a force, Joshua Kennedy is going to be the go-to man.

"Kennedy, (Tim) Cahill and Kewell are going to be a real handful to contain and hopefully will be the trio to lead Australia past the group of 16.

"There is no doubt that Australia have a good enough squad and depth to pose a threat to some of the biggest names in world football."
