Sydney FC releases Reddy for breach of contract

Sydney FC have terminated the contract of goalkeeper Liam Reddy for breaching his Standard Player Contract.

The 30-year old was caught drinking alcohol on a flight to a match to take on Wellington Phoenix last month with the club deciding to end his time as a Sky Blues player.

"Sydney FC today terminated the employment and contract of Liam Reddy following incidents that took place before, during and after a flight to Wellington before the recent semi final," said Sydney FC Acting CEO Stefan Kamasz.

"Those actions represented serious misconduct and do not reflect the actions we believe to be appropriate for a professional football player with Sydney FC."

Reddy made close to 40 A-League appearances for Sydney following stints with Wellington Phoenix, Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets.
