Sydney FC re-signs young gun Petratos

Talented youngster Dimitri Petratos has extended his contract with Sydney FC the club announced today.

The 18-year old has re-signed with the Sky Blues for a further two years and is looking forward to developing his game even further with the reigning A-League champions.

"I am really happy to have signed my first professional contract especially because it is with Sydney FC. The club has been great to me. Vitja (coach Vitezslav Lavicka) gave me a shot when he asked me to join the first team and I have enjoyed every part of it," Petratos said.

"It has been a big challenge adjusting to the speed and physicality of the A-League but it is something I am enjoying. I am learning every day and with every game."

Petratos has made six starts this season for a total of 12 appearances and recently scored his maiden A-League goal - a fine left-footed strike in the club's most recent outing over Gold Coast United (2-0 win).
