Sydney FC notch up their first win of the A-League season

A-League cellar dwellers Sydney FC have finally recorded their first win of the season with a 3-0 result over Perth Glory at nib Stadium. The reigning champs had some luck at last as Bruno Cazarine led them to a stirring victory with a goal each side of half-time whilst Alex Brosque grabbed one just after the break to help set up the triumph.

The loss was Perth's six on the trot and pushed them down to eighth on the table after being on top after five matches.

A-League Week 11Perth Glory: 0 Sydney FC: 3 (Bruno Cazarine 25', 82', Alex Brosque 53')

Venue: nib Stadium, Perth Crowd: approx. 7,000 Referee:Ben Williams Yellow cards:PG - Adriano Pellegrino 22', Jamie Harnwell 31', Jacob Burns 43', Michael Baird 52' SYD - Sung-Hwan Byun 12', Nick Carle 32'

Sydney showed their intent very early in the piece as they chased their first win of the season and were proving to be a bit of a handful for the Perth defence but the Glory slowly worked into the contest and brought things back to level terms.

Things looked ominous for the home side when Sky Blues defender Shannon Cole forced a top-shelf save out of Glory keeper Aleks Vrteski with a dipping free-kick in the19th minute before Bruno Cazarine managed to put his side ahead six minutes later. GOAL The Brazilian scored with a powerful header from a Sung-Hwan Byun set-piece, rewarding the visitors for their solid attacking showing in the opening half-hour.

Perth reverted to some strong-arm tactics following the goal with some heavy challenges but they did also go about playing an attacking brand ahead of the half-time whistle.

GOAL Seven minutes in to the second half, Sydney went two ahead when the ball fell perfectly to Alex Brosque and a striker of his quality did not need a second invitation to shot on site and he managed to sneak it through a host of Glory defenders who had been involved in a goalmouth scramble.

nib Stadium was dead silent after their side went two behind as a sixth loss in a row loomed large for the Glory and it loomed even larger as the second half progressed as even one goal looked too hard to come by.

GOALSydney seemed happy to hold onto their 2-0 lead but decided a third was on the cards when Cazarine grabbed a second with a neat finish under the body of Vrteski which sealed the points for Vitezslav Lavicka's men.
