Sydney FC goalkeeper Liam Reddy has been hit with a two-match ban by the independent Match Review Panel.
The gloveman was involved in an incident in the 36th minute of the Sky Blues 2-2 draw with Central Coast Mariners at Bluetongue Stadium on Sunday and has been sanctioned for his actions.
The incident escaped the attention of referee Strebre Delovski giving the MRP the authority to consider the incident. The MRP found that Reddy had committed an offence, namely 'Assault on a Player (eg Violent Conduct when not challenging for the ball)' and has proposed a two-match ban which is the minimum sanction for this offence.
Sydney FC have until 1.00pm (AEDT) today, 25 January 2011, to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
