Sydney FC extend deal for ex-Utrecht, Feyenoord, ADO defender Bosschaart

Official release from Sydney FC

Sydney FC's desire to become more stable has been significantly boosted with the re-signing of experienced defender Pascal Bosschaart for the next two seasons, tying him to the Sky Blues until April 2014.

The affable Dutchman has been a revelation in the heart of the Sydney FC defence in his inaugural Hyundai A-League season and has been central to the club's cultural change off the pitch.

"I am very pleased to be staying at Sydney FC for another two years," Bosschaart said. "Since I have arrived in Sydney everyone at the club has been tremendous for me and my family. We have been made to feel welcome, I love playing for the club, I love living in Sydney and I am very happy to stay at Sydney FC.

"I enjoy going to work every day, Sydney FC has a very good group of players, a professional staff and facilities and everyone at the club is united together."

Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka was thrilled that Bosschaart has committed himself for another two years to the Sky Blues.

"Pascal has been a very important player for Sydney FC this season," Lavicka said. "He has been very strong with Megsy (Michael Beauchamp) and is a leader, a hungry player, on the pitch and in the dressing room."
