Sydney expecting tough trip to Perth

Sydney FC are expecting a tough encounter when they meet Perth Glory at Members Equity Stadium this Sunday. Bizarrely it is the first meeting between the clubs this season despite it being round 15 and although he has never met them in proper competition, Sky Blues coach Vitezslav Lavicka knows just how tough a team the Glory are to beat away.

"Perth is a dangerous team, especially at home," Lavicka said. "We know what to expect. They are a physical team."

But the Czech tactician said everything was in place for his team to produce a solid performance which will hopefully atone for their loss to Gold Coast United prior to the international break.

"The players' preparation has been good, the fitness has been good (so that is not an issue). It (the away record) is a bit of problem, but we believe we can improve," he added.
