Sydney chairman Kemeny blasts players for poor form

Sydney FC chairman Andrew Kemeny has almost lost patience with the team's below par performances of late. The Sky Blues have produced some inept showings of late and the 2-1 loss to the Wellington Phoenix was the last straw for Kemeny.

"That was a shocking performance," Kemeny told The Australian yesterday.

"I was very disappointed, not for me but for our loyal fans.

"It was unacceptable and people who pay good money to come and watch deserve a whole lot better. We have a huge following. Look how many we get to The Cove, whether it's rain, hail or shine. They have every right to feel let down.

"We have now had two or three chances to go to the top of the table, but we have not taken them," Kemeny added.

"You have to wonder about the players.

"You have to wonder whether they are up to it. We give them the best training facilities, the best coaching, management and training staff, everything.

"Maybe they need to take a good, hard look at themselves. If they don't think they are up to it then maybe they should do the honourable thing."
