Swindon Town boss Paolo di Canio has told Leon Clarke he will never play for his team again.

The former QPR striker only signed for the Robins in August but after his much-publicised disagreement with Di Canio in the aftermath of Tuesday's Carling Cup defeat by Southampton, he is set to leave the County Ground.

Di Canio said: "Here we are professional, he didn't want to be professional. We work hard, he didn't want to work - he is absolutely a lazy person.

"Now I want to stop because he's out from my team. Even if he's under contract he's not going to play in my team.

"I was sure with his quality he should help us but with the way he behaved since the first day, even if he was a (Lionel) Messi, he was never going to play much here."
