Swansea winger Routledge happy being watched by England scout Lewington

Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge is delighted to be on the radar of England coach Roy Hodgson.

Routledge reckons he has been a much-improved player this season following advice from club boss Michael Laudrup, who was a world great in his playing days and won over 100 caps for Denmark.

He said: "Michael plants ideas in your head, but you pick up most of it when you see him in training.

"On the field it makes sense, but talking about it doesn't. Michael shows you once and straight away you understand because it's quite simple and very effective.

"I feel my game's come on quite a bit. That comes with playing a lot.

"It's a nice boost Ray (Lewington) has been watching, but my only priority is playing well for Swansea. That's all I'm concentrating on and anything else is an added bonus.

"I know Ray from when I was younger at Crystal Palace and also from Fulham a little bit. He was always in charge of the reserves, but I was younger then."
