Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer has hailed the development in recent years of Tottenham star Gareth Bale.
Dyer was once a Southampton team-mate of Bale and admitted he has been stunned by the Tottenham winger's progress.
He said: "Gareth has gone to a completely different level. I don't remember him having the kind of pace, power and strength he has now, even if he had the technique.
"But it's amazing for us to all being in the Premier League, great to see mates in the same situations you are.
"He had to show strength of character at first at Tottenham. I saw some clippings the other day that he was once going to get sold for £3m to Birmingham and now he could go to Real Madrid for £85m. Things change, it's a rollercoaster ride and I want to stay on it for as long as possible."
