Swansea City remain locked in talks with Real Betis for midfielder Jose Canas.

The Mirror says Swans boss Michael Laudrup will up his initial offer - although sources in Spain claim Betis still want to hold out for more cash.

Financially struggling Betis want Canas, out of contract at the end of the season, to stay until the summer but know Swansea could make an offer that the Spanish side cannot refuse.
