Swansea whack £25m price tag on Crystal Palace target Williams

Swansea City are hoping to ward off suitors for defender Ashley Williams but inflating his price to £25million.

Swans boss Gary Monk is determined to keep the Welshman at the Liberty Stadium and recently insisted that 'he is going nowhere'.

However, Williams continues to be linked with Crystal Palace as the south Londoners seek a central defender to sure up their back line.

The increased price will ensure that any interested parties will have to think twice before submitting a bid.

A confident Monk also reassured fans of Williams' ongoing presence in south Wales: "Ash will be here, he´ll be here with Swansea.

"For the past six or seven years he's been linked with a team in the summer. But Ash is very committed to the club, he's our captain and he's captain of Wales as well."
