Swansea to take action over van Zweden's LVG comments

Swansea City have confirmed that they are pondering whether or not they will sanction club director John van Zweden.

The Swans director reportedly called Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal an 'arrogant b******' prior to the Welsh side's 2-1 win over the Red Devils at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Van Zweden reportedly made the comment to Dutch TV which has since been picked up by the Swans board who admit they unhappy with their own.

"It is disappointing that one of our directors has apparently made a statement in the media in relation to a manager of another football club," said Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins in a statement.

"Our football club prides itself on having a good working relationship with all Premier League clubs, managers and staff. We feel we have built up that good relationship over a number of years and will continue to work hard to preserve our image.

"If any of our directors behave in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner not befitting this football club then they will be dealt with internally and appropriately."

Swansea's victory enabled them to land a winning double over van Gaal's United after saluting 2-1 at Old Trafford earlier in the season.
