Swansea striker Gomis 'fine' after pitch collapse

Bafetimbi Gomis is ok after collapsing on the pitch early in Swansea City's 3-2 loss to Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The French striker appeared to pass out shortly after Nacer Chadli put Spurs ahead in the 7th minute at White Hart Lane before regaining consciousness with help from medical staff.

Former Lyon ace Gomis, who has a history of fainting, was stretchered off the pitch after receiving treatment and was completely conscious as he was carried off the pitch in north London.

After the match, Swans boss Garry Monk produced some good news by telling BBC Wales that the 29-year old was 'fine'.

"He's fine… he wanted to actually stay on the pitch," he said.
