Swansea striker Barrow makes starting debut for Blackburn

Swansea City loanee Modou Barrow was handed his first start for Blackburn Rovers in their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Barrow barely threatened the Huddersfield defence and was subsequently substituted just before the hour mark.

Barrow's replacement Nathan Delfouneso made an immediate impact for the Championship club, scoring Rovers' equaliser less than a minute after taking the field.

In the lead up to the fixture, Barrow had indicated he was keen to extend his loan spell at Ewood Park beyond the initial three month period agreed to by Swansea and Rovers.

"The people here and the lads in the team have been nice to me, so I've found it good," Barrow said.

"Swansea have a lot of good players and their squad is big now so the most important thing for me is to get 90-minute game experience, so when I do go back, I'm 100 per cent ready.

"If the Swansea squad is still strong, and they have no injuries, and they are still doing well, then hopefully maybe I can stay here because I really like it. I just want to do well for the team."
