Iceland heaped more Euro2016 qualifying misery on Holland with a 1-0 win over the Dutch in Amsterdam on Thursday night.
Gylfi Sigurdsson's second-half penalty was the difference at the Amsterdam Arena as Iceland remained two points clear at the top of the Group A table which makes their job to qualify for next summer's UEFA tournament in France so much easier.
The spot-kick came about six minutes into the second half when Birkir Bjarnason was fouled in the area by Gregory van der Wiel, inviting Swansea City ace Sigurdsson to step up and fire past Jasper Cillessen from 12 yards.
Earlier, Bruno Martins Indi had been sent off at the same time as Arjen Robben was forced off injured in what proved to be a massive blow to the home side.
The victory has Iceland sitting eight points clear of the Oranje with three qualifying fixtures remaining. As it stands, Danny Blind's side sit third, in the play-off spot, six points in arrears of second-placed Czech Republic and one pint ahead of Turkey.
Iceland are on pole position to remain on top as they prepare to host bottom side Kazakhstan in Reykjavik on Sunday.
