Swansea City are ready to upgrade manager Garry Monk's contract.
WalesOnline says Monk has begun early discussions over a new Swansea deal, with a pay increase and a new compensation clause to protect the club understood to be top of the agenda.
It is understood initial talks have taken place about a rise in wages as part of an extension to the three-year-contract he signed when he was installed as the permanent successor to Michael Laudrup last May following an eye-catching initial period as head coach.
