Swansea City star Michu is eagerly anticipating what could be his long-awaited international debut later this week.
The 27-year old attacker has been called into Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad for Friday's World Cup qualifier with Belarus in Palma and Tuesday's clash with Georgia in Albacete and is hoping he can finally realise a lifelong dream of representing his nation.
"It's what every Spanish footballer dreams of," Michu told Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
"It isn't easy, though. Not many people get to pull on the shirt of the best team in the world.
"We'll see if I'm lucky enough to play. I'm enjoying it; I feel like a kid. It's the pinnacle for a player.
"There are a lot of players absent [for Spain], but there are great players in the squad. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to play, although I'm grateful anyway for the call-up."
