Former South Korea national team captain Park Chu-young has missed out on selection for this month’s World Cup qualifier against Qatar.

The 27-year old Arsenal striker, currently on loan at Spanish club Celta Vigo ,has struggled for form this season and has not been included in Choi Kang-hee’s squad for the March 26 meeting with the Qataris in Seoul.

Making Choi’s cut were Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, Hamburg striker Son Heung-min, Sunderland’s Augsburg loanee Ji Dong-won and Bolton winger Lee Chung-yong.

The Taeguk Warriors currently sit second on the Group A table on seven points, one behind Uzbekistan, after five final round qualifying matches. Directly beneath them are Iran and Qatar also on seven points with Lebanon bringing up the rear.
