Swansea City are hoping to sign Benjamin Stambouli from Montpellier according to reports.
Reports in France suggest that Swans boss Garry Monk is in pursuit of the 23-year old French defensive midfielder who has a year to run on his current deal.
It is believed that the Swans and La Paillade are in negotiations regarding the potential transfer of the former France U21 international who can also be deployed at centre-back.
Stambouli made his Montpellier debut in 2010 and has gone on to make 127 appearances for the Stade de la Mosson outfit.
Swansea have already signed striker Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon this summer and are now hoping to add another Frenchman too their stocks.
