Swansea City are eyeing Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson.

The Evening Chronicle says Williamson has attracted some interest from last season's surprise package Swansea City - but Brendan Rodgers' appointment at Liverpool could well end any chance of a bid from the Welsh club.

Williamson's 25-game stint last term saw the former Torquay man play his part in 11 clean sheets, as the Magpies qualified for the Europa League.
