Swansea City No2 Alan Curtis admits they wanted to sign Bafetimbi Gomis BEFORE landing Wilfried Bony.

Curtis insists Gomis will stay with Bony now sold to Manchester City.

"We're always looking at players but it's difficult," Curtis told talkSPORT. "Bafetimbi Gomis has an opportunity now, he's been very patient.

"Gomis was one of our targets just before we signed Wilfried Bony, believe it or not. He was actually ahead of Wilfried on our list. We had a £10million offer turned down 18 months ago.

"Wilfried was not an afterthought but Bafetimbi was higher on our list of priorities."
