Swansea City have tabled a bid for Atalanta defender Mike van der Hoorn.

The 23 year-old Dutchman, who is also wanted by Ajax, is the subject of a formal bid from Swans, says De Telegraaf.

Van der Hoorn, who can also play in midfield, has been linked with AC Milan this past season.

Ajax have offered €2.5 million plus bonuses, while the Swans bid is regarded as superior.

Van der Hoorn is tied to Atalanta for another year, having joined three years ago from FC Twente for €4 million.
