Lukasz Fabianski has been told his suspension will stand after Swansea City had their appeal turned down.
The Polish goalkeeper was sent off in the 68th minute of his side's eventual 3-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday for bringing down Diafra Sakho.
Swansea opted to go up against Fabianski's one-match sanction because they felt Sakho had handled the ball prior to the contact but an Independent Regulatory Commission have rejected the appeal.
Former Arsenal gloveman Fabianski will now miss this weekend's meeting with Tottenham as a result of referee Chris Foy's decision at Upton Park.
A statement from the FA read: "Swansea City's Lukasz Fabianski will serve a one-match suspension with immediate effect after his claim of wrongful dismissal was dismissed following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today. Fabianski was dismissed for denying a goal scoring opportunity.''
