Swansea City legend Lee Trundle has hailed their team ethic.

As far as Trundle is concerned, keeping the team as the star is why the Swans continue to fly high.

"It's why that whatever's happened and whoever's left, the club has been able to carry on and keep going," Trundle told the South Wales Echo.

"It goes down to a lot of what Roberto Martinez put in place and built into the side and then Brendan Rodgers really took on; it's the system, rather than about relying on one person or a couple of individuals.

"Don't get me wrong, the side is full of top players and it's why they're doing so well.

"But because of the style of play and everyone knowing their roles and responsibility that even when players have left, new ones can come in and get on straight away.

"Any side would miss the likes of Joe Allen or Scott Sinclair after they left, but you can't say the team has been weaker by the way they've started the season.

"That's the beauty of what Swansea have done over recent years and why they can keep on going."
