Swansea City legend Lee Trundle has slammed talk of manager Garry Monk fighting for his job.

Trundle has called rumours about Swansea sacking Monk “stupid".

The former Swansea striker told the South Wales Evening Post: “It's stupid to even be talking about that.

“The chairman has always been close to Monks and has always known what Swansea means to him — that's why he gave him the manager's job in the first place.

“I can't imagine him getting rid of Monks after one little bad patch."
