Swansea keeper Vorm unconcerned with missing Wembley final

Michel Vorm missed Swansea's Capital One Cup final victory at Wembley, but is set to return against Newcastle. The Dutchman's deputy, Gerhard Tremmel, was preferred after playing the majority of the games in the cup competition.

But Vorm is prepared to put personal glory aside for the greater good as he takes over between the sticks.

He said: "Like every player, I would have loved to have played in the final. But I knew a long time before that Gerhard would have the gloves.

"I was pleased for him as he hasn't played that much over the last two seasons because of me, which couldn't have been easy.

"But he deserved his place because he's done really well this season. He's proved what he's capable of and had every right to earn himself a new contract.

"Although I didn't play, I still enjoyed the atmosphere and the occasion. I loved it and felt the same as those that played because at this club we are all in it together."
