Swansea keeper Vorm steps into Holland role

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has been rewarded for his impressive early-season Premier League form by stepping into the Holland national team role.

The 27-year old former FC Utrecht man has replaced the injured Maarten Stekelenburg for the final two matches of Euro2012 qualifying against Moldova in Rotterdam on Friday and Sweden in Solna on Tuesday.

Vorm, who is likely to start both games in with the gloves, expects the Dutch side to finish top of their group with two positive results.

"Against Moldova we just need to make sure we play to our capabilities," he told the Holland team's official website.

"If we play like we have done in recent years we will be okay and will top the group.

"We have so much quality. We play a lot of good football and score a lot of goals. We just need to maintain that level."
