Swansea holding off on Middlesbrough’s Emnes

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed that the club have not been in contact with Middlesbrough regarding Marvin Emnes for about a month-and-a-half.

The Swans enquired about the 24-year old Dutch striker when Brendan Rodgers was still at the helm but Jenkins says that nothing has happened since Michael Laudrup has taken over as he has his own transfer targets.

"We made an enquiry with Middlesbrough six weeks ago regarding Marvin's availability," Jenkins told the club's official website. "We needed to test the water.

"But that was six weeks ago when Brendan Rodgers was the manager. We have certainly not made an enquiry since then.

"Having just appointed a new manager in Michael Laudrup, all current and new options are being assessed. Michael, with the help of the recruitment staff, will decide over the next few weeks the direction we take regarding potential new signings."
