Swansea hero Freestone questions derby kickoff time

Swansea City icon Roger Freestone has questioned the wisdom of staging the south Wales derby at 4pm on Sunday.

The decision to stage the match so late in the day goes against the convention of earlier kick-offs for derby matches.

It is understood that the kick-off time was set by Sky, who are broadcasting the fixture, in discussion with the Premier League and South Wales Police, says the Daily Mail.

Former goalkeeper Freestone, who played a record 19 times in the fixture between 1991 and 2004, said: "I am very surprised this game will be played at 4. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it will go well and both sets of supporters behave themselves.

"That is the main thing, not only for the Premier League but welsh football as well. If they are loud and noisy then great, but please let's not go further than that."
