Swansea goalkeeper Lewis Thomas targets more U23 action

Swansea City goalkeeper Lewis Thomas is targeting more U23 chances.

Thomas was delighted with his first start of the season as the goalkeeper helped Swansea U23s beat Celtic 6-0 in the Premier League International Cup.

"I am very pleased to get 90 minutes under my belt," said Thomas. “The boys defended well and made my job easy on Saturday. It was nice to get a clean sheet to go with that performance.

“The win means we have made a really positive start to the tournament. We stuck to our game plan, decided to press them high from the start and we got our rewards from it.

“It is always good to get game time. I hope to feature more in the competition this season. I am constantly working hard in training to push for a starting place.

“Playing in the top tier of Premier League 2 this season means we face some tough competition. We have seen the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool come down here and play really good football – so the ultimate aim for me is to play in that.

“I've just got to keep my head down, keep playing and hopefully, by hard work and dedication, the rewards will come."
